Pandit Sri Dhananjay Joshi joined our Hindu Society of Eastern Washington in December 2023. Before coming to Richland Washington, panditji worked as a Veda Pandit and freelance priest at Sri Hanuman Temple, Hyderabad, India for more than 10 years. Also worked in Sri Maha Vallabha Ganapati Devasthanam, New York and in Hindu temple of Central Arkansas, Little Rock, Arkansas. He also provided his services at Hindu Temple and Cultural Center of South Carolina in Columbia, South Carolina.
Panditji is a Shukla Yajur Veda Krama Pathi and also trained in the Vaidika Smartha traditions in Sri Jayendra Saraswathi Gurukulam, Karnataka, India. He has also practiced Krishna Yajur Veda and various Karma Kaandas. Panditji is an expert in performing various religious activities including panchadasha samskarams, Abhishekams, Homam and Alankarams. Panditji is a Chandi Upasaka and performs all kinds of Devi related Pujas. Panchadasha samskarams includes Punsavanam, Seemantham (Baby Shower), Namakaranam (Naming Ceremony), Annaprasana (First Feeding Ceremony), Wedding (Marriage), Upanayanam (Thread Ceremony), Shanti Pujas, Homams, Satyanarayana Vratam, Gruhapravesha Puja, Vaastu Puja, Kalasarpa Shanti Pujas etc. Over the years, Panditji participated in as well as conducted various large events including Shata Chandi, Sahasra Chandi, Ati Rudra, Maharudra Yagnyas in India. Panditji is also an expert in Mahanyasa Poorvaka Rudrabhishekams and Kalyanams to various deities. Panditji is very fluent in Sanskrit, Telugu, Hindi, Kannada, Marathi, English, while having a basic understanding of Tamil.
Along with Shukla yajurveda Kramantam, Panditji has done his Masters in Alankara shastram and Advanced Diploma in Vedic Astrology. Panditji is also honored with Acharya and Shastri during his studies and career.
